We would like to introduce a case study of the implementation of smart glasses (Synchro Eyes) at Osaka Gas Marketing Co., Ltd. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it became difficult for veteran engineers to accompany younger members for on-the-job training at the site. To reduce the number of personnel dispatched to the field and to change the way we respond on-site, we decided to implement this technology. After the implementation, there are cases where it is difficult to discern abnormalities through sound, as subtle sounds may be processed as noise by the smart glasses, and situations where sensory confirmation through touch cannot be covered. However, we have generally been able to grasp the information that needs to be confirmed.
